Dr. Jeelani

Interview with: VoyageChicago, July 24, 2018

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roohi Jeelani.

Roohi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As long as I could remember I have wanted to be a doctor, typical of a child growing up in an Asian household right? The twist comes when I first met Dr. Reena Jabamoni, a Reproductive Endocrinologist, and Infertility specialist.

I was just barely twelve years old and as soon as I walked into this office, I was fascinated by all the pictures on the wall of stuff which at that time seemed very “inappropriate,” eggs and sperm lined the exam rooms and grey hallways. When I asked her what she does and what type of doctor she is, she quickly replied by saying, ” I make babies, I take an egg and sperm put it together and put it in the mom.” Read the full interview here.

Host Dawn Davenport, Executive Director of Creating a Family, the national infertility & adoption education and support nonprofit, interviews Angie Beltsos, the CEO and Medical Director of Vios Fertility Institute Chicago.
